Brighton Pavilion ice rink reopens after year of hiatus
A POPULAR ice rink is back in Brighton after a year of absence due to Covid-19.
The ice rink at the Royal Pavilion reopened for the first time in two years on Saturday.
Dubbed the UK’s most scenic ice rink, it’s the only one of its kind in the UK powered exclusively by green energy.
Shella Parkin, Marketing Director of Laine Ltd which takes to the rink every year, said: “In this all-year-old year when the UK hosts COP26 in November, we hope more events will follow and undertake to. switch to green energy for their power needs.
“With that in mind, we are delighted to announce Eventim as our sponsor for this year, which, as Europe’s largest ticketing agency, is fully committed to building a greener future for events.
Martin Fitzgerald, Marketing Director of Eventim UK, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink and are focused on providing a positive ticketing experience to their customers.
After a year of hiatus, the rink offers more space this year, so visitors have plenty of space on the ice.
There are also half-hour breaks between sessions to allow for social distancing and cleanup.
The party attraction allows people to ice skate and have a drink at the Rinkside Bar and Kitchen.
At the bar, people can choose from hot snacks and a selection of refreshments ranging from mulled wine to hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Those interested in going can book their 45-minute slot tickets online.
Full price tickets are £ 15 (12 and over), £ 10 for juniors (under 12) and the 45-minute skating times run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The ticket office is open from 9:30 am and visitors are strongly advised to book their tickets in advance to be sure of their skating slot.
The ice rink celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2019.
