Cynthia Erivo and Adobe honor black roller culture

*Cynthia Erivo recently connected with Adobe software in an approach highlighting the culture of rollerblading in the black community.

Using the hashtag #StoriesonSkates, Adobe has released a digital collection featuring six types of roller skates designed in collaboration with Substance Painter, Adobe’s new 3D feature.

The six elements of skate culture being; music, choreography, empowerment, style, heritage and community.

“I was so excited to work with Adobe on Stories on Skates to showcase the culture of black skating, especially as an expression of black joy and creativity,” Erivo said in a press release. “This project brings to life stories of the rink that are inspiring, important and worth remembering. My hope is that Stories on Skates is a fitting tribute to skating and black culture while celebrating its rich history in music, movement, style, empowerment, community and heritage. “

Skateboard influencers who will also be involved in the project include skatealldae, justseconds, the_good_guy91, gr00vyquads and lilyskatesalot. They will tell their own stories of links with rollerblading on their Instagram accounts, Madamenoire reports via Yahoo.

“This project shows how Adobe’s 3D vision goes beyond a simple set of tools and brings creative visions and culture to life in new immersive media,” said Sébastien Deguy, vice president of 3D and immersion at Adobe, in a press release. “With Cynthia’s help, we hope that Stories on Skates will highlight the joy and impact of skating culture for the Black community.”
