Eaton de Mesa on the 2022 United States National Skateboarding Team
USA Skateboarding recently announced that 16 members – including Mesa’s Jagger Eaton – will join the 2022 National Skateboarding Team to kick off the new season.
Skaters named to the national team were based on their performances at international-level events in the year prior to their selection for men’s park and street and women’s park and street, according to a statement.
“A native of Mesa, Eaton is on an upward streak and at the height of his career at such a young age. Jagger has limitless talent and versatility that allows him to compete in both park and street disciplines, allowing him to become one of the most progressive and technical skaters in the sport,” the statement read.
Eaton became the first American skateboarder to medal at the Olympics where he won bronze in the street competition in Tokyo.
“The progression of skateboarding is crazy,” Eaton said in the statement. “We are constantly working, and I can tell you that everyone on this team absolutely wants to dominate what we do. I am really excited to arrive in Paris.
