‘Get your groove on’ – roller skating comes to Okotoks – OkotoksOnline.com

Roller skating comes to Okotoks thanks to a pop-up event from ‘Calgary Roller Skate’.

Owners Theresa Tucci and ‘Roxy Acetylene’ have booked Foothills Centennial Center for Saturday May 7th.

Tucci grew up in Okotoks and wanted to bring roller skating back to his hometown.

“We wanted to get out into some satellite communities because we have a big event in Calgary once a month at the JVC, Junior Varsity Volleyball Center, so we wanted to start reaching more satellite communities as we grow and I thought why not start with my hometown.”

The event is scheduled for the whole day of May 7 with three different sessions.

“There’s a 12:00 to 2:00 a.m. which is a family-friendly family skate, we have radio-friendly music. There’s also a 2:30-4:30 p.m. timeslot. And then there’s an evening skate that’s more for older teens and adults and it’s 6:00-8:30.

There is also a deejay lined up to play age-appropriate music for each of the three sessions.

‘Roxy Acetylene’ says…

“Time to get you up to speed.”
