Ice rink returns to Denver International Airport after two years

There’s good news and bad news if your flight is delayed at Denver International Airport anytime between this weekend and New Year’s Day.

The bad news: Your flight is delayed.

The good news: you can rent a pair of ice skates and go for a spin on the ice rink which opens on Friday, November 18 in the outdoor square near the terminal counters.

“We are thrilled to announce that our ice rink is back for passengers and community members to enjoy,” airport CEO Phil Washington said in a prepared statement. The rink operated for four years before the pandemic closed it for the winters of 2020 and 2021.

“Whether people are traveling to or through DEN, or just want to visit the airport for the day and enjoy this free activity with friends and family, DEN is here to bring holiday cheer,” he said. -he adds.

The rink is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Refreshments and holiday treats are available for purchase at the Skate Shop (located inside the Westin Hotel), but skating and skate rentals are free. You can find the ice rink near the Tivoli restaurant and brasserie.
