Launch of the “in the sky” ice rink at the Winter Island event at Freight Island

An ‘indoor skating rink in the sky’ is being built during the massive Winter Island party event at Manchester’s Escape to Freight Island food and beverage center.

Described as a “boutique ice rink in the sky”, it will be located on the newly constructed concrete mezzanine inside Escape to Freight Island, and will open to the public starting Friday, November 12.

Located under the striking industrial roof of the Mayfield Depot, the rink will also be part of the semi-autonomous party village, where Winter Island food and drinks are available and can be pre-ordered according to your skating schedule.

The opening hours of the ice rink will then be Monday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
