Le Pavillon à Bend to celebrate the arrival of winter and the end of year celebrations


BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The holidays get a little more festive in Pavilion with the return of a winter solstice celebration and open skate sessions during the holidays.

The Bend Park and Recreation District rink will celebrate the shortest day of the year on Friday, December 17 with a Winter Solstice celebration from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bend Ice Figure Skating Club special figure skating performance .

Participants are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food for NeighborImpact to receive a special admission price of $ 6, including skate rental. NeighborImpact’s food bank needs these nutritious foods: canned meats, canned and canned meals, peanut butter, canned or dried beans and peas, pasta, rice, grains, canned fruits and juices.

“It’s so nice to bring back the Winter Solstice celebration after last year’s break,” said Clare Gordon, Supervisor at the Pavilion. “We’re excited to host winter entertainments and help stock food bank shelves in our community. “

In addition to the celebration of the winter solstice, holiday skating will be offered from December 18 to January 2 with extended open skating sessions. The Pavilion will be open for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and New Year’s Day.

For those members of the community who prefer to watch others on the ice, spectators at the Pavilion are available for free for hockey games, curling games and skating sessions.

A second session of ice skating and sports programs, offered from January to March, is currently open to registration.
