As the country continues to open up after many months of lockdown, we can’t think of a better time to book a stay in this American city you’ve had on your bucket list for far too long. Whether you reconnect with a group of friends you haven’t seen since 2019, meet generations of family for a long overdue reunion, or just want to rage until dawn (summer there ), We have what you need. The Big Group Reunion Trip: Las Vegas, Nevada
You’ve waited so long to kiss your friends in real life; shouldn’t you end up in a place where you could all night? If sleeping until noon and sitting down to dinner after 10pm is more your speed, Miami is your dream destination. It’s hard to think of another city in the United States that values ââfun as much as this part of South Florida. So it’s no surprise that the bars, lounges, and clubs here are world famous for good reason. Make your home port in South Beach, home to the majority of upscale hotels and nightlife spots (often in one place). History buffs’ journey: Washington, DC
For travelers interested in many types of history – American, artistic, natural, animalâ¦ the list goes on – there is nowhere more ideal to visit than Washington, DC. The nation’s capital, of course, is not only home to the ever-popular White House, Capitol and Supreme Court sites, but also a host of incredible world-famous museums, most of which are free. Some of our favorites include the National Museum of the American Indians, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the National Museum of Natural History (which reopened this June after a long closure). For an extra dose of history, book a room at the buzzy Riggs Washington DC, which is housed in the former Riggs National Bank (also known as the âBank of Presidentsâ). Their underground cocktail bar Silver lyan is actually located in the old bank safe.
The gallery-hoppers journey: New York, New York
One of New York’s most magical qualities is the way art surrounds you wherever you go. From the innovative and colorful graffiti on the buildings of The Bowery, to the world-famous galleries of Chelsea, to the stunning collections of MoMA or The encounter, it is difficult to turn a corner in this city without stumbling upon a sculpture, a painting or an installation. One of our favorite hotels for art lovers is The Langham, New York, whose central location makes it ideal for visiting the galleries of Soho or the museums of the Upper East Side on the same day. It also has an enviable art collection, including many striking pieces by American painter Alex Katz.
Music Lovers’ Journey: Nashville, Tennessee
There are many reasons to love Nashville: the incredible selection of innovative restaurants; crazy games for sports fans; and the inimitable and joyful atmosphere of the many bars in the city, especially the honky-tonks. But this state capital is known as Music City for good reason: tunes are coming out of virtually every restaurant, bar, and performance venue here. Music lovers have a plethora of options: County Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, and the Grand OlÃ© Opry are just a few of the city’s institutions dedicated to the history and research of country, rock and many other genres. Lie down for the night at Hutton Hotel; it is a short walk from the legendary Music Row, and there is also a concert hall, Analog.
The beach bum trip: San Diego, California
The whole state of California is spoiled for beaches, but if we had to choose our prefer instead, we would go with âAmerica’s Finest Cityâ for good reason. San Diego has an enviable 70 mile coastline; Along it are dream spots like the soft white sands of Coronado Beach and the surfer’s paradise of Cardiff State Beach. You could spend your entire vacation cruising the coast, but when you need to rest, The Pearl is a boutique option that even offers poolside movie screenings.
The Foodie Journey: Los Angeles, California
There are a lot of cities that will be claiming the title of Best Food in America, but for now, we have to give it to LA. The depth of the cooking here is unparalleled, whether you are looking to make an elevated, modern dish. kaiseki experience at n / naka, tacos al pastor scarf at Tacos Los Palomos, or eat all the pie crust Republic. But if you don’t know where to start, you can always book a food tour. The popular Food tours on the sidewalks runs tours of downtown LA and West Hollywood, where attendees can try everything from soup guisado artisan cheese tacos. Foodies should also head to the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel. Not just the buzzy steakhouse CUT located at the hotel, but also Leboul, which serves fresh California fare on the iconic Rodeo Drive.
The Beer Lover’s Journey: Asheville, North Carolina
Over the past few years, this charming town in the Blue Ridge Mountains has slowly established itself as one of the best places in the South for great food and drink. The city’s number of breweries certainly adds to this reputation: Asheville has more per capita than any other American city; there are around 100 local beers available for foam lovers to sample. There are also many beer centric festivals throughout the year, but the gem may be Asheville Beer Week, in which more than 40 breweries participate.
